3D Design

These are samples of 3D design. Most images were rendered in 3D Studio Max.

I started learning 3D design by modeling real-life objects. The room and lamp were actual objects in my presence. Later on I delved into more creative design.

3D design combines skills from sculpture, geometry, photography, cinematography, animation and traditional art. That's what makes the trade so intricate. Once you learn the fundamentals, there is really no limit on what you can do.

I disregard claims that 3D design is not real art. In my honest estimation, it's one of the highest forms of art because it requires a knowledge and skill base that encompasses practically all other forms of art.

The truck, barn and Jed images are from a short animated movie I'm creating that is actually a silly commercial for a bogus product called "Kickass Beer."

The model of Blue is for a project I'm working on that will see a showdown between Blue and Barney, the purple dinosaur. I'm not sure yet which will win.

The bottom image is a screenshot from a map I made to mimic the Weldon Square apartments in Columbus for the game Counter-Strike. Along with my friend Jeremy Gilbey, I am compiling a map pack with maps designed to reflect actual locations in Central Ohio.
