 The photographer that doesn't master still photography is the photographer who will never get hired for an advertising campaign or as a graphic designer. Being able to take stills is one of the basics in photography. Your subject is usually inanimate, and is at your complete disposal in terms of angle, lighting and setting.
There are really no limits to still shots. All tools available to photographers can find a use in still photography.
