I remember the first time I really got my hands on a camera. My dad let me borrow his 35mm camera while we were on a trip to the western region of North Dakota. I trekked across the semi-arid countryside of the Killdeer Mountains, near the border of the rolling grassland plains and the Badlands. I was 15 years old. Ever since then, I have been passionate about photography.

During the summer of 2007, I did not get out much to photograph the countryside and critters that I usually do during the summer. My son Hayden was born in July, and our family did not get out much in anticipation of the new baby. As such, my photography suffered a lull.

So this morning I browsed through my collection of photos (which probably numbers in the hundreds of thousands of photos) to share some shots that I have not posted. So here are some "new” nature photos that were taken over the last few years.
