Chihuly display at Franklin Park Conservatory
Tonight was the official opening of the Chihuly display at the Franklin Park Conservatory. Hundreds of fans and onlookers crammed into the hundred-year-old glass conservatory to view the glass sculptures and lithographs of one of the world’s most famous glass artistis—Dale Chihuly.
Running through March 21, 2004, the display has dozens of colorful and twisted art pieces set amongst the flora of the Conservatory. Some pieces seem like they belong among the flowers and cactus-beds inside the greenhouse… others sit like alien monuments sent here to challenge our imagination with their bizarre vibrance.
