I rarely accept requests to promote events, but when Lori Smith, an old friend and editor from my Messenger days, sent out a request to help a fundraiser for a little girl in need, I broke my stubborn streak. Below is a copy of the information being used to promote a golf outting here in Central Ohio. Lori says they are mostly seeking people to fill the role of golfers.

The 11^th annual Vince DeFillipo Golf Outing will benefit Sophia Hope Thomas, a 17-month-old Pataskala girl fighting acute lymphoblastic leukemia.

It will begin with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9 at Cumberland Trails Golf Course. Participation is $240 for a four-person team and includes lunch and cart rental. A 50/50 drawing will be held, and prizes will be awarded. Hole sponsors are still being sought for $100 per hole.
